Extrica uses a multi-region deployment strategy for data recovery. This means that the same application stack is set up in two different regions. If a failure is detected in one region, Amazon Route 53 (R53) is configured to handle the failover to the other region. For database replication and failover, additional configurations are needed. These can be modified in Extrica’s CloudFormation Template (CFT) script, but only upon the client’s request. This ensures data availability even in the event of a regional failure.
